On October 2, the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science organized a regional stakeholder seminar in cooperation with the Jēkabpils Agrobusiness College and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The aim of the seminar was to present the results of the TTT4WBL project and to activate the regional dialogue in order to promote joint action of the parties involved in vocational education for the development of their region. Participants shared their experiences and discussed the opportunities for cooperation between vocational education institutions and companies in the implementation of WBL. Inga Zeide from the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized the importance of the social dialogue with employers and their associations.
The project coordinator Inta Baranovska and Vita Žunda, trainer of work-based learning tutors presented the TTT4WBL project and its results. Videos prepared in the project served as good starting points for discussions in smaller groups that were moderated by Ilze Buligina from the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science and by Inta Laurena – trainer of WBL tutors in TTT4WBL workshops. Several employers shared their experiences with trainees in the framework of WBL.
Participants concluded that there is a need to further encourage peer learning and exchange of experience among WBL trainers, for example, in similar regional meetings. The seminar was attended by representatives from vocational education institutions and companies from the region, as well as other interested parties.
