The tandem training approach and the TTT4WBL project were presented to guests from the Savo Vocational College (Finland) at a seminar organized by the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science. The Finnish delegation consisted of apprenticeship coordinators, international coordinators and Mr. Jukka Kosunen as vice principal of the Savo Vocational College. They were especially interested to learn about the implementation of work-based learning and the Baltic cooperation in this field.
The seminar was opened by Rūta Gintaute-Marihina – head of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education. She gave an insight into the Latvian VET system and the ongoing reforms. The TTT4WBL project was presented by the project coordinator Inta Baranovska (National Centre for Education), Vita Žunda (Baltic Bright) explained more in detail the tandem training approach and Ilze Buligina (Ministry of Education and Science) talked about the Baltic cooperation in fostering apprenticeships.
After the seminar the Finnish guests visited the Riga State Technical School and learned more about the implementation of VET programmes in Latvia and the organization of work-based learning.
